Carolina Crossroads Hot Air Balloon Festival
The weekend of May 16 marked the successful kick-off of Log A Load For Kids’ 20th Anniversary with The Carolina Crossroads Hot Air Balloon Festival presented by EMBARQ. More than 15,000 people from across the region and country, including Florida, Alabama, and Minnesota came out to the support the cause and celebrate the $29 million raised by Log A Load for Kids, a sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network since 1988. Log a Load for Kids was established by the South Carolina Forestry Association in 1988. The program began when loggers and others in the timber industry donated revenue from a load of logs to a nearby Children’s Miracle Network affiliated hospital. Log a Load for Kids is one of CMN’s largest sponsors. Funds raised through this program have improved the quality of care available to children and even helped save children’s lives. About Children’s Miracle Network: Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.
