2012 ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF PRIVATE FOREST LANDOWNERS, PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA
Forest Landowner’s Annual Meeting Brings Together Foresters,Generations of Families, Experts and Corporate partners.
Over 250 private forest landowners, forestry deans and consultants met in Ponte Vedra, Florida, to network and hear from experts in the fields of forest economics, legal issues, varietal seedlings, hardwood markets, softwood lumber.
The unofficial theme of this year’s FLA National Conference — Where Family Matters Intersect with Business Priorities — solidly resonated throughout the sessions, panel discussions, and social events. “We meet to not only learn and network but to also celebrate the accomplishments of the FLA this past year, as well as the role private forest landowners play in contributing to America’s societal, environmental, and economical resources,” noted current FLA President Derek Dougherty
This year’s annual meeting agenda was crafted with sessions for small and large landowners, as well as family and business foresters. From better understanding the best management practices that are being discovered and implemented, to regulation and policy issues confronting the forestry community back in Washington, DC, panels and guest speakers were full of insight.
“Our annual meeting has grown into a reunion and rallying place for the forestry community and industry.”
Scott Jones, FLA CEO
