FLA Supports Gainesville Renewable Energy Center

August 18, 2010

The Forest Landowners Association supports the development of the Gainesville Renewable Energy Center (GREC). The GREC is a proposed bioenergy facility in Gainesville, Florida that has many promising attributes for both the community and forest landowners in the area. FLA asks their Florida members for assistance at an upcoming public hearing.

If you are interested in supporting the GREC, please attend the Site Certification Act (SCA) public hearing to be held in Gainesville, Florida at the old Alachua County Courthouse (next to City Hall and the Family/Civil Justice Center) during the public testimony portion of the meeting, which is tentatively scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 23. Written comments can also be submitted.

For more information about the GREC and how you can support its development, please contact FLA CEO Scott Jones at sjones@forestlandowners.com or (800) 325-2954.
