National Forest Landowner Advocacy Day
Last week, FLA hosted the National Forest Landowner Advocacy Day in Washington, DC. This event was an opportunity for American private forest landowners to travel to the nation's capitol to share their experience of owning forestland with members of Congress and lobby on important issue such as Death Tax, the Clean Water Restoration Act and developing and strengthening emerging wood markets.
The event was a success with over 60 participants from 15 states attending 48 meetings with members of Congress and staff. In addition, participants gathered for a reception in the new Capitol Visitor Center featuring many notable political officials and members of the forestry community working in Washington, DC.
Next year's National Forest Landowner Advocacy Day is expected to be even larger. All private forest landowners are welcome to participate.
