One of the main purposes of the Forest Landowners Association is to influence Federal policy, legislation, and rulemaking for the benefit of private forest landowners through grassroots advocacy, educational programs, and campaign support.

It is again time to think about keeping our friends in office and replacing incumbent forestry opponents. The 2008 election cycle will prove to be very competitive for many of our forestry allies. With your support, FLA-PAC can continue to help elect pro-forestry representatives to fight for our causes in Washington DC.

FLA participates in Federal election campaigns through its Political Action Committee (FLA-PAC). The FLA-PAC, operating under Federal law and the regulations of the Federal Election Commission, collects money from FLA contributors, and then disburses these funds to candidates for office who support the goals and objectives of FLA.

During the 1999-2000 election cycle, FLA-PAC raised $61,000, and gave $63,500 to seven U.S. Senate candidates and nineteen U.S. House candidates. (Out of these twenty-six candidates, nineteen were successfully elected or reelected to Congress.)   The stakes were raised during the 2003-2004 election cycle when FLA-PAC raised $133,000 and gave $125,900 to seven U.S. Senate candidates, seven U.S. House candidates, the Bush Administration, and Death Tax repeal efforts.

In addition to raising money to support candidates for Federal office, FLA-PAC supplies information regarding Federal Election Commission rules to our members.
