The Virginia Forest Landowner Education Program is presenting an on-line course on woodland options for landowners to give landowners an increased understanding of basic forest management principles and techniques as well as the ability to use this understanding to become better land stewards.
The course is designed for private forest landowners of any acreage. It is not intended for forest landowners who have substantial experience working alone or with natural resource professionals in the management of their forests; however, veteran landowners are welcome to enroll and may take the course as a refresher on basic forest management.
The 12-week course begins Monday, March 10 and runs through Friday, May 30. Interested persons may now register on-line at http://www.cnr.vt.edu/forestupdate.
$70 must be paid when registering using a credit card; the fee will cover the cost of the materials needed for the course, including: two books, a DVD, on-line reading materials, and assignments. Additionally, numerous natural resource professionals and experienced landowners will be available to answer questions and assist with discussion topics.
Participants will need a computer, web browser, internet service provider, and e-mail account.
