Once again this year, the SARE Silvopasture project is cooperating with the FL Forest Stewardship Program to sponsor a tour of George Owens Farm in the Florida Panhandle near Chipley (Washington County).

All are invited to attend but we would like especially to identify and invite cattle/forage producers who are interested in seeing one of the most renowned silvopasture operations in the Southeast Coastal Plain, hearing Mr. Owen's perspectives on successful establishment and management of all silvopasture components: trees, forage and cattle, and interacting with others interested in silvopasture.

This year the tour will be held on Tuesday April 10 from 9:00 am to 3:00 PM CDT. There is no fee, and lunch is included, but pre-registration is required: Call the Washington County Extension Office at 850-638-6180 to register. We’ll meet at the Washington County Extension Ag Center on April 10 at 9:00 AM CT and travel to the property in vans. We’ll return to the Ag. Center for lunch and a brief afternoon session.
