Program Summary: This program will give landowners an opportunity to learn to identify some of the common tree, shrub and herbaceous species on their forest properties. We’ll focus on a representative sample of species that grow in Northwest Florida and some time will be spent on identifying and describing of the agronomic crops planted for wildlife. We’ll also learn to identify some of the most problem invasive exotic plants such as cogongrass, Japanese climbing fern, and tropical soda apple. Samples of flowers, twigs, leaves, and/or fruits will be used to teach identification.

Register: A fee of $10 (cash only) will be collected at the door. Coffee and refreshments will be provided and each participant will receive a tree/plant ID guide. To register, please call the location you wish to attend; a list of the participating locations is on the announcement (see link above). Please share this announcement with others who may be interested.
